Mayor Vanessa van Uden

Whoever you are, wherever you’re from, come January, everybone’s a local in the Queenstown Lakes District!

Thanks to the Summerdaze festival, local businesses and groups work together with the council to make this one of the most vibrant districts in New Zealand, helping everyone know how it feels to be part of our community.

Whether you like your summer chock full of arts, sport, cultural or plain recreational memories, the diverse programme means nobody’s left out when it comes to fun in the sun.

And in this, the 150th anniversary of  the discovery of gold in the district the fabulous blend of traditional features and brand new events all over the district is brighter than ever.

It’s a great time to share with the people and places of Queenstown Lakes at their vibrant best, so come and be a local for a month with us at Summerdaze but be warned… it’s so much fun you might want to stay here permanently!
