Queenstown Lakes District

Queenstown

Queenstown is the Southern Hemisphere’s premier four-season lake and alpine resort with rugged mountains, majestic lakes and crystal clear air and plenty to do. From bungy jumping to wine trails, jet boating to trekking, dining out to skiing – the hard part is fitting everything in.

Lake Wanaka

Lake Wanaka lies at the gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park, a pristine environment of striking mountains and deep alpine lakes. Part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Area, hikers, mountaineers, rock climbers and day walkers from around the world enjoy the area’s spectacular natural beauty.

Getting Around in Queenstown

Consider making the most of your Summerdaze experience leaving parking and driving hassles behind.   Events in the town centre are easily accessed by walking or bus or a combination of the two; or cycling along the Sunshine Bay or Frankton trails.

Bus

Queenstown’s regularly scheduled bus service is run by Connectabus.  Services run to and from the main suburbs of Fernhill, Sunshine Bay, Lake Hayes and Arrowtown.

Walking and Cycling

Cycling and walking is a relaxing and healthy way to enjoy your journey to one of the SummerDaze events.  There are cycle parking stands located throughout the town centre

Driving

Consider carpooling! Fill up all the seats in the vehicle, save money and parking hassle.  Parking at event time will be limited with the busy summer season.   Sharing a car with friends, neighbours and relatives will help the parking congestion and make it easier for everyone to enjoy their time at the events.

Getting Around in Wanaka

Walking and Cycling

Cycling and walking is a relaxing and healthy way to enjoy your journey to one of the Summer Daze events.  Wanaka has suburb network of cycle tracks along the lakeside into the town centre.   Once you are there look for the cycle parking stands located throughout the town centre streets.
