Glenorchy Races

Glenorchy Race Day is a real southern kiwi experience and one of the premier events on Glenorchy’s social calendar.
Races include: Walk Trot Gallop; Trotting Cup; Relay Race; Stockmans Race; Saddling Race; Double Banking; Ladies Gallop; Open Gallop; Locals Gallop; Quarter Mile Sprint.

Although anyone with a horse can registers (only rule is that you wear a helmet), this is not riding for the faint hearted or inexperience.

There is plenty to eat with the Glenorchy School BBQ and the Golf Club beer tent

Wanaka’s The little day out in association with The Edge

Come on down for Wanaka’s very own little day! Skate and BMX competitions on the skate park, DJ’s all day, bouncy castles, food stalls, face painting, Ball games, competitions and much, much, much more!

Summerdaze Challenge

bungy-runFor an afternoon of sporting fun you can’t beat the Summerdaze Challenge.

Teams will go head to head on the inflatable obstacle course, battle it out on the dual lane bungy fun run and heave their way to victory in a good old fashioned tug-o-war.  Grab your colleagues, friends and family and form a team of six for some sporting action and fun. Bring a picnic lunch, plenty of energy and your best sporting tactics. It’s all on!

Extended Liquor Ban: From 6am on Sunday 27th of December 2009 to 6am Wednesday 6th January 2010 there will be a liquor ban enforced within the areas specified by the QLDC – see www.qldc.govt.nz for further information





New Year’s Eve Queenstown

Connectabus services from Frankton – Queenstown – Fernhill will run to 11.15pm every 30 minutes.

Kelvin Heights pick-ups will be 9.00pm – 10.oopm starting at Oregon Drive to Queenstown.

Arrowtown – Queenstown departures are 9pm and 10pm.

After midnight departures from downtown Queenstown will be every 15 minutes covering Fernhill, Frankton, Kelvin Heights, Lake Hayes Estate and Arrowtown. These services will stop at approx 4.30am.

The Michael Hill NZ Open
